bonsai exhibition

Today I went to Yu Hua Tai{named by yuhua pebbles}to see a bonsai exhibition with my father in the morning,today is a sunny day,and the weather is very hot,so during the visiting time,I were bited by lots of small insects.the reason why I chosed this as my public event,because I had planted the bonsai plants when I was a primary student,and I also have interest in it.

When I came into the gate, a big rockery was appearing in front of my eyes,there are lots of different,strange bonsais around it,there are also some green plants and some colourful wild flowers,some are red, some are purple,some are yellow,but most of the bonsais are small trees,the most strange,attractive point is not the tree's leaves,but the tree's trunks,the trunks are twisted terribly,these flexible trunks make the trees look really like something else,such as dogs,sea lions, artillery, mice, forks, old men and etc..in the centre of the bonsai garden,there is a greenhouse,it has two floors,there are a large number of cactus in it,some of them are round and short,some of them are long and slim,there is also a small pond in the first floor,in front of the greenhouse,there is a outdoor fountain,I've taken a photo by myself near the fountain,there weren't many people there, most of the visitors are young people.

After this tour, I felt fresh and happy,the beautiful bonsais aroused my interest of planting the bonsai again,although they aren't as big as the formal trees,but they are really refined and can be good to mould our sentiment,bonsai is a sect of art,it can give me a kind of calm feeling when I admire them.

St.Paul Church

Today,I went to ST.Paul Church in Baixia Road inthe afternoon,It's a very old church that built in 1923.I went with my mother and stayed there for religious service.The church is not very big,I think it just looks like a formal gray and white church building,the church belongs to the Sabbath communion,when we arrived the church,we heard that today's priest is a very famous priest from Shanghai-Mr.Jiao,he is an old man but his voice is not bad.

When the people in the church talked with each other,the proest went to the platform and let us be quite,after a few seconds,the choir started to sing a song,with the graceful song,everyone ducked and prayed in their heart,I made use of this opportunity to had a look around the big room,the roof is protruding upwards,the roof's material is wood,there are 8 pendants with many candles that hang on the roof,but the wall around is made of bricks,there are many paragraphs from the Bible on the wall.in the fornt of the church,there is a big crucifix,the whole build looks very tradiontional.each people were very pious when they prayed.

After the pray,the priest lead the believers to sing the hymm.then he read a paragraph of Bible to the believers,after that,he started to preach about the Bable,during the preaching,he talked about the revealment's predictions and the Sabbaththe former said that the predictions will allcome true in the persent world,and the latter, the priest used some Bible's story to explained the Sabbath's meanings and importance to the believers.next the priest lead us to sing another hymm called"Ready for the judge day",at last,one of the believers{a young woman}went to the dais and started the blessing,during this time, the believers kept saying"amen!".

During the priest's break time, I've found him and asked him some questions,the question is the Cathoilcism's significances to the western cultue,he answered me about the Cathoilcism's founder:Martin Luther's explain:fraternity,free,equal are the three important things to a wonderful world in to the Cathoilcism,these effevt the western people's characters,so in our eyes,most western people are friendly and untrammelled,the Cathoilcism is also lots of westernpoeple's spiritual stay.

After we left,i feel a little bit exciting about religion,especially the revealment's predictions,because I'm a curious people,and in fact there are really some strange thing that can't use science to explain,maybe the Cathoilcism is not imagine!

At last,my opinion about the significance of the Cathoilcism to the western culture is almost the same as the priest,western people always friendly and freely,their countaries also publicize that people should be equal even before a long long time,I think Cathoilcism is a way that united all the human by build a lord,so the world will be wonderful.

fashion show

April 27th,I went to see the yearly GCA fashion show,this tear's GCA fashion shoe was hold in TIIAN JING:the vacant lot in the first floor of the NFLS library,It is not a big place,there was a big stage with big red rug,there were also many big spotlights around the stage,under the stage,there were lots of chairs , there were also many desks that put in two sides of the gate.lots of GCA teachers and students from each grades were joining in this big show.By the way, I was the volunteer of this show,my job is to carry the chairs grom GCA building and be the doorkeeper during the fashion show to prevent the people who haven't bought the gashion show ticket.

The fashion show was starting at 6:00 p.m,we volunteers suddenly get to each gates to start our work,the two hosts with walked onto the stage and started to introduce the fashion show to the spectators,during this time, I have seen lots of models with different clthoese in the backstage,Joe wore a brown jacket,looked like a detective,Rita wore a colourful dress,looked like a Hawail woman.......but I 've didn't find the teachers in the backstage.

"GCA fashion show start!"with the host richard's words,the models started to go out from the backstage,Mr.Shapoor was really attractive,he dressed like a spaceman,especially the China flag on his shoulder,looks really funny,almost everyone shouted"Mr.Shapoor" at that time.10-B's Lucy wore like a mummy ,she used lots of white lints wrap her whole body,even her head,we just could see her eyes.Mr.Gallinelli wore a red Chinese traditional shirt.Mr.Butler wore like a joker,a grade 10 boy even dressd like a saxy woman,Miss.Hadely's clothes is my group's design,the green dess,but in fact,I don't think the dress's colour is suitable to itself...........I kept taking photos,the models sometimes went onto the stage by one erson,sometimes went on togrther,at last,all the models went on the stage and made a whole pose for thwviewers to take photos.

The fashion show was end at abot 8p.m,we volunteers and some of the other students left to clean the scene and carry the chairs and desks to GCA buliding.A wonderful fashion show,isn't is?

physical activity 2

Physical activity is very important to our health,but I didn't do it for too long time during "term 3",because I had hurt my left foot and kept feeling ache for about 2weeks,during the other time,I played basketball almost from beginning to end,whatever how to say,basketball is my favourite sports.
Every Thursday,I would play basketball with my classmates during about7:00 a.m to 8:00 a.m,because we had PE class at Nan Shi Da every Thursday at that time,so we could arrive there early and played basketball or badminton for about 1 hour,sometimes we only have 4 or5 classmates played together,because sleepping is very important.we also play basketball during the noon during Monday and Friday,this is the beat time for us to play,expect we have homework at this time.Of course, I always went to some university's basketball courts to play basketball during every weekends.
My basketball way is not flat,although I have played basketball a long time,ubt I have never been a good attacker in my team,my teamates looked don't believe my shoot skill or dribble skill,I seldom get the chance to attack during the matches,almost all of my work is to defend,to pass the ball,to make the fauls,we called this kind of people"coolie".day by day,I have known something about my problems:the main reason is myself,I must believe myself,sometimes,I just know to pass the ball to others when I get the ball,I don't have enough brave to attack,I'm afraid of getting fail so that i will be abused by my teamates, I must change in the future.
Mike is my best friend, we always played basketball together, Erick,William,king,Avery ,almost al lof the boys in my class are all like playing basketball,so most time I just played with my classmates,I will also played with some university students when I played in the universitis such as Nan Shi Da.
Expext basketball, I also plated Pingpong and badminton during my free time,different with basketball,Ijust play these two kind of sports with my family members during weekends,because I'm really too weak in these two sports.

doorkeeper in fashion show

During this year's GCA fashion show,I have been a volunteer to guard the entrance and help other volunteers to carry the deske and chairs from the GCA building.

After the last math class,I went to the fashion show court and talked with grace{10-c's student council member}about to be a volunteer,because in the noon break time,Van{the student council member from grade11} came to my class and called up the volunteers to be the doorkeeper and i agreed to come.But when i talked with grace,she told me that I had been late,so I need to carry chairs with other volunteers first,then I can be the doorkeeper after 5:00,Although i was a littlr bit unwilling,but for the volunteer time,I determinated to do this job.

I started to carry the desks and chairs with the volunteers from 10-b,10-c and some workers,but because of my body quality,I don;t have much force to carry too many chairs at the same time, for the best, I can carry 2 chairs or 1 desk at the same time,we first carry all the chairs and lots of desks from the first floor,the other volunteers are all very strong,all of them can carry 4 chairs or 2 desks by one person,after that some of the volunteers went away,there are only 4 people left to carry the chairs and desks in the scene, of course included me,we kept carrying the chairs until 4:30 p.m,then I went to the fashion show court to discharged the desks and chairs ,we put some desks onto other desks in order to build a 'tower',and put the chairs into a stright line, used to make an approach for the models,at last,van told me that I cango to thestair mouth to be the doorkeeper,my job is to prevent the person who doesn't have the ticket to come in to see the fashion show,for this job,I even gave up my dinner,it's really a boring job, because there were not many people came to my place.

During the fashion show, there were some of the NFLS department students came here,I didn't let they came in in the begining,but in fact, they just want go to the third floor to take their evening class,so I let them passed through at last,the fashion show was not too long,I took some photos with my friends and models during this time.

After the fashion show,the student council ordered we volunteers to carry the desks and chairs back to GCA building,luckily, some students helped us during this time,and our work efficiency increased clearly,I have met a small problem when i carried the chairs back:I tumbled down when I climbed the stairs.

After all the works, I said goodbye to my"boss",they also thank for my working and agreed to give me volunteer time and prove paper at May 4th,Ireally felt happy about my job,because helping others can always make me feel satisfied.

western restaurant

Today's evening, I went to have a dinner with my mother,we arrived henry's home at 6:30p.m,there were a lot of people there,the waiter took us to a private room.henry's home has many multiple shops in nanjing,the one we went is at longjing,I choose this restaurant because It's food is very delicious,I have been here for lots of times,theother important reason is it is the nearest restaurant from my house.

We ordered three courses and a cup of grapefruit juice,the courses included :Ossobucco[braised beef served with rice and vegetable],Pasta[Italian noodle with lots of delicious small piece of beef],a plate of Loose soup[a kind of western soup vith beef and different kings of vegetables in it].I like these food very much,because they are not very greasy,in my dailylife,the food is always very greasy,no way, this is Chinese food.

The restaurant's environment is very good,the floor, the tables are all very clean,the restaurant's light is dusk,but can give people a very comfortable feeling.the service there is also good, the waiters and waitress are very kind and courteous,they also can speak English very well.there were also many foreign customers in the restaurant .the atmosphere there is very fresh,too.

At last, I really recommend you to come to this restaurant.Sorry,I forget a point,there is also a singer in the restaurant to sing different English songs to the customers,her voice is very good,you can enjoy the music when you have the delicious food.

exhibition

Today,I went to see an exhibition at JingSu Art Museum.I took a taxi and arrived there at 9:00a.m and stayed there for an hour.the ticket is free,the exhibition is on the third floor,the museum is a very old house.By the way,I went there by myself.The exhibition is about the cows,now is chinese "niu year"[means cow year],so this exhibition's goal is to celebrate the new year,the exhibition center is noy very big,just about 4 classrooms' site,I choose this exhibition because cow is one of my favourite animals,at the same time,the museum is the nearest one from my house,the last point,the museum is very old,it has exhibitions almost everyday.My favourite artwok is a picture called"jing niu fen jing"the title means a gold bull try it's best to keep walking toward.the bull in the picture has black head and neck, yellow body,it's two horns are very long and sharp,the bull's behind is a burst red wind,the artwork's colour is fantastic,it combine various kinds of colours together perfectly.I also like the artwork's intension,in my eyes,red wing represents the strong China,the hardworking gold bull represents that the chinese people will try their best to let China become stronger,although will meet lots of problems,Chinese people also won't give up.I don't reeally like this exhibition,because I don't like traditional Chinese painting, caricature is my favourite.I think traditional chinese painting is boraing,there are not many interesting things in it,seem too formal.

school club

During my first term in NfFLS GCA,i had known a lot of new things,such as the differentkind of teaching method and some strange homework,in GCA,there are lots of clubs init,some club is made by the students,some clubs' leader are our teachers,i joined chessclub and we have activities in every Friday's noon,there is an hour in each activity,i joinedevery activities during the whole term.When i was very young,about 9 years old, i had already been very intrested in chess,istarted to learn chinese chess when i was 9,although my chinese chess's skill is veystrong,but i was not very good at chess,this is the reason that why i joined the chessclub.because i wanted to improve my skill for this part.Our club leader is our science teacher-Mr.Shpour,although i don't like his teachingmethod(he is very strict to us,you must believe)but when he told us the methods ofplaying chess,he was not as strict as he teaches in class,Mr.Shpour is a good chessplayer,of crouse he is not a professional chess player,but to us,he is very strong,when iplayed with him,i felt this point,he is very good at to think about which step do otherswant to make,he told me that if i want to win,i must assign the relevant tactics that can bedirected against my opponents,i don't need to have a match with my opponents aboutwho's speed is fast,but i need to sink my heart and think:why he issued this step?if i issuethe step like this,what is the consequense?When i played with other students,the game might be esaiser,especially some newhands,but there are also some past masters in this club,such like my classmate-Jim,in thisclub, i always win and shoulder it more few,so after some weeks,istarted to thought aboutmy problems:my expierence?my faults?my opponents?my heart.......that's right!theproblems are from my heart,the sentence"I want to win!"is full of my heart,when iplayed,i always think of this sentence,so more faults apperenced,more losts i'vegotten.maybe i can try my best to make me clam down during the chess game.In the next some weeks,i started to use my new methods,include some new tactics,and animportant way:make mt heart calm down during the game.The method was verteffectual,i felt my brain become clearer than before,but my actual strength is not verygood,but not at all,i have enough time,i can improve my skill in the next term,so i willchoose chess club again in the next term.

In the other free time, Ialso join my classmate-Joe's gmae bar club,this club is a kind of pure amusement,we club members can stay in 10-A classroom and play different kinds of palms like psp and NDS after class{the common time is Friday's afternoon },Although the club is just for fun,but the biggest advantage is that we can use it to make aloots of new friends,such as me,I've met some new friends from10-E.10-d and 10-F,but in fact,my game skill is not very good,I've realized this point when played with the other club members by omline battle.

basketball

This hoilday,teacher told us we need to do some physical activities for at least 10 hours,it's a good thing,thie can not only help us to improve our physical strength,but also can help us to go out to have a breath of fresh air.My favorite sports is playing basketball,my parents bought me a new basketball to encrouge me do more activities.During the whole hoilday,I kept playing basketball for 10 hours,one hour a day,I went to nan shi da and played basketball there for the first time,i had made friends with a lot of university students,they are all very good at playing basketball,of crouse, they are stronger then me,i don't have enough power and enough height,my basketball skill was not very well,too.we ten people were divided into 2 teams and hold some matches with each other,in the begining,i even can't receive the ball because of my poor power,i just can run around of the basketball field,i knew i must use my effort to attract my teammates' attentions,i try my best to defend the other side's attack and get the rebounds,after the first match, i have got a lot of new skills,although i can't get even 1 chance to shoot,At the second match, there were some new students join us,so we were divided into 3 teams and each team had 4 people,at this time,i strated to attack,i used my speed to break through the other side's defence,then shoot to get points,but my percentage of hits was not very well,my percentage woulg get lower when the distance from the basket and my situation get longer.,at the same time,becouse of the improve of my attack, my defend was get poorer,i hadn't enough energy to pay all of my attention to two things at the same time,my physical fitness is too weak,it's time for me to do someting to make me become stronger,or i would just be a short,weak boy.Connecting the eight matches,i really felt my progress,i learned how to incress my percentage of hits,i learned i must stretch my hands widely used to improve my defend.....the incress of my shoot chance proved my progress,why i got these chance?because my teammembers started to affirm me.i insisted that i will keep playing basketball,i want to prove a principle to other people:if i want it, i can do it.

my voluntary work at nanjing library

At 29th january 2009,I went to Nanjing Library to be a voluntary worker for a whole day,about 8 hours.I took bus there and arrived the library's north gate at 9:00a.m,I had been waitted there for about 20 minutes,because Nanjing Library's open hour is at 9:30a.m,when I went into the library,i started to find the library's information counter,i asked some readers in the library and an old man told me at last.after i found the information counter,i asked the staff member:i am a student from Nanjing froeign language school,i want to be a volunteer ,can you introduce a work for me?then she called someone and told me to go to the second floor,after i got the reading room at the second floor,a woman staff member received me and explained my work to me,i should sit beside the door as a gatekeeper,i need to teach the person who don't know how to swipe their reading card,if the readers want to come into the reading room, they need to swipe their card on a magnetic card reading machine,it's easy,but some people would forget to use their card's bar code,especially the old people, during my work time, i tought at least 20 elderly.at the same time,i also need to someone who bring something that the reading room don't allow,such as drinks,food,bottle,big bag and the books that don't belong to the reading room.By the way,the reading card has many kinds,different kind of cards have different colour,just the yellow reading card can be allowed to use in the second floor.i started my work at 9:40a.m,i had been vert excited,this is my first time to work in a public place,i had been a worker nothing but i can't earn money.the frist reader is a young man with a plastic bag,after he swipe his reading card,i found he had a bottle in his bag,i told hin that he can't bring the bottle into the reading room,he is very polite and he did the thing that i told to him,most of the day's readers are like him,but there are still someone didn't match up my work,sunch like a middle aged woman,when i told her that she can't bring the water into the reading room, she looked very ungry:if i get thirsty in the room,how can l do?i thought i have be in trouble,so i told her the reason that why she can't bring water into the room patiently ,but she still insisted on herself's opinion,luckily,the stuff members helped me to explain to the woman,although she looked still recalcitrant,but she agreed me at last,i also realized if i wan't to be a good gatekeeper ,i need to be more strict.in the 5;30p.m,i had finished my work at last,the stuff mumber told me that i can back to my home and i can get an identification at third floor,finally,i took the indentification and back home,although the rain is heavily,but my heart is warm.

By the way,i had also been worked in mother's office for 2 hours ,you can see the first photo for this blog,that's my indentification from my mother's company.

dinner in western restaurant

Befor the christmas, we five 10-a students went to a western restaurant to have dinner with some grade 12 students at Xin Jie Kou.after school, we went to th e bus station and took an No.48 bus to the restaurant,the bus was too crowed at that time,i even couldn,t move,after two stations,the number of the people in the bus became larger,the feeling is so terrible.
After we got off the bus,some classmates and the grade 12 students had been hungry,they bought some bake sweet potatoes form the side of the street to eat,when we arrived the restaurant, we chose a table with ten seats,the restaurant is an Italian restaurant,the waiteress brought a meanu to us,the thins on the meanu are terriblely expensive,even the water need 18yuan,I just bought 20 yuan,so I just ordered a cup of lemon ice-cream,the other 10-a students ordered some noodles and rice,the grade 12 students ordered a pizza,we also ordered a big bottle of apple juice.Luckily,the bread is free,so I uesd the bread as my dinner.
Although i hadn,t enjoyed a good dinner,but we also enjoyed a good night,we talked with each other,we laughed,we had fun there,I also remerber a skill:bring enough money when you go to have western food.

wu weishan

this artwok is a scu;pture,it,s apperance is just like a big cow with an empty syomach,the name of this sculpture"ru zi niu"is from a famous chinese writer luxun,he wrote an eminent sentence thay includes this word,the whole artwork is made of kaolin,the cow,s two forelegs are kneeling on the gorund,and it,s head is held high.
this artwork is the artist xiong bing ming,s gift for nanjing university,s one hundred year celebration.it,s kneeling fovelegs and the holding head represent the chinese good spirit:to keep fighting in spite of all setbacks.this means the chinese never submit in the face of troubles.and the cow,s empty stomach means the artist,s bosom that he is willing to give anything of him to his country.
like this artwork,it,s full of the artist,s imaginations,such as the cow,s empty stomach,fovelegs and head,First of all,the whole artwork is life like,the body,s details make the whole artwork almost real,the carving skill is really good,but the important point which attracts me is the artwork,s profound intensions,the artist tries to use the cow,s actions to represent the chinese spirit."ru zi niu"is not only a good artwork but also full of educational meanings.
